I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood. Upon graduation I began my 16 plus year career in Early Childhood as a Two Year Old Teacher in Hoboken, New Jersey. I also was given the opportunity to work in the center Infant program for a short time before my husband and I relocated back to the upper Midwest.
My next assignment brought me to the YWCA in Fargo, North Dakota. Here I developed and led their Infant program for approximately six years. Through this experience I realized my calling and true love…working with infants and their families.
In 2001 my family relocated to the La Crosse, Wisconsin area where I became the YMCA Child Care Center Director. I was able to use my knowledge, experiences and skills to develop and enhance a quality early childhood program for approximately three years.
Upon relocating to the Duluth area, I was appointed the lead infant teacher here at UMD Children’s Place and was given the privilege of planning and participating in the set up of our brand new program, which opened in March 2005. I was promoted to director the summer of 2007 and have enjoyed guiding and supporting the vision and mission of Children’s Place, as well as working with such wonderful children, families and staff.
When I am not here at Children’s Place I love spending time with my family. I am married and have an eleven year old daughter and twin five year old boys.
I am very passionate about the early childhood field and feel very fortunate and proud to be part of such a wonderful and high quality child care program. I look forward to continuing to guide and support UMD Children’s Place as we partner with families, the early childhood field and various community agencies.
