The information on this pages describes the tests and passing scores required to be licensed to teach in the State of Minnesota.
Beginning the fall 2009 ETS will no longer be mailing a paper based copy to your home. Instead, you are responsible for accessing the scores from your Praxis Account. The process is easy — simply log into your Praxis account and click on your score report.
NOTE: Be sure to save a copy of your scores on your computer or email it to yourself. You will be responsible for printing a copy of the scores and attaching it to your block application.
Paper Based Exam: Scores will be available on the assigned Scores Report Dates listed below
| Test Date | Score Report Date (Approx) | Number of Days after Score Report Date, Scores are Downloadable and Available Online |
| 11/14/09 | 12/15/09 | 45 Days |
| 1/9/10 | 2/9/10 | 45 Days |
| 3/13/10 | 4/13/10 | 45 Days |
| 4/24/10 | 5/25/10 | 45 Days |
NOTE: If you do not access your scores in the available time period listed above, you will be charged $40 to access your scores.
Computer Based Exam:
At the test site you can view unoffical reading and math scores at the test center; however, because of the essay scoring process, you cannot view your writing score at that time. All offical scores will be available online at the Praxis website 10-15 days after you take the test. After scores have been posted they are downloadable and available online for 45 calendar days from the score post date.
NOTE: If you do not access your scores in the available time period listed above, you will be charged $40 to access your scores.
Forms are found here.
Preparing for the test is very important and there are a variety of resources that are available to you online. Check out the resources here.
Emergency Registration. Emergency registration will replace standby testing. Unlike standby testing, emergency registration will guarantee the test taker a seat. Test takers who must take a paper/pencil test but have missed the regular and late registration deadline dates will have an opportunity to use emergency registration up until the Friday one week prior to the test date. Emergency registration is available only by registering online, and the fee for this service will be $75.
Out-of-Session Exception Processing. The Board of Teaching has coordinated with Educational Testing Service (ETS) for authorization for some candidates (in selected fields) to register for specific tests when "more than one test" is required for any given license and there is a conflict in the same testing session when the tests are offered. This exception is made for candidates who are required to take more than one test for the single field. No more than 2 tests can be taken on the same day. You must complete 2 paper registration forms that can be located at the following website. Include one time per year registration fee as well as fee for both tests. Mail applications and fees to ETS. They will also accept fax.
This test (reading, writing, and math ) must be taken and scores received before you can apply to any education program. There are two ways you can take the PPST:
One-time Registration Fee (Annually). Test takers will be required to pay the registration fee only once during a testing year. Testing year is from September-July. Any subsequent registrations within the testing year will not require a registration fee.
