Budget Information

The University of Minnesota system makes budget allocations to each of the academic and administrative units through its annual budget planning process. This process spans over the academic year. Funding decisions for the next fiscal year are announced by the University system after the Board of Regents has approved the President's Recommended Operating Budget. The University of Minnesota Duluth's budget serves as a tool to help UMD achieve its strategic goals by managing its financial resources more effectively. The Strategic Planning & Budget Committee within the campus governance system, supports the institution through its advisement and communication on strategic planning budget issues--integrating the goals of the Strategic Plan, the Campus Master Plan and Strategic Enrollment Management into the campus financial plan.
