American Indian Science and Engineering Society Report

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society has had slow start for the 2011-2012 school year but we finally have a grasp on what is going on. Being a small group it is very difficult to make large scale changes with little horse power. We have recently elected new officers and have a plan for the rest of this school year. We currently help out for two hours every other week at the "Kids Cafe" a program put on by the Damiano Center. We have also talked about a donation drive to gather vital school supplies for underprivileged students at Woodland Middle School. Another service opportunity would be providing tutoring for American Indian students at public schools. Our main goal is to make an impact on our community by providing young American Indian students with the opportunities to explore Science, Engineering and other areas of post secondary studies.
