Student Life Report
As you know, departments that were part of the former Division of Academic Support and Student Life and the Division of Finance and Operations now comprise the new Division of Student Life. Therefore, the Division of Student Life is in the process of forming a new Unit Change team. Our goal will be to build on the work of our staff who were members of Unit Change Teams in ASSL and Finance and Operations. We have had discussion at our Student Life directors unit about the formation of the new team. Directors agreed that this provides a great opportunity to strengthen and sharpen the division’s efforts in support of Goal 2 of the UMD Strategic Plan. Directors also noted that it would be very important for the new team to be empowered by me as Vice Chancellor and the Directors group to bring forward action items for implementation. Our first task in the formation of the team is to set forward a list of criteria that Directors could use to identify team members. This was done at the request of the Directors, and the list was completed just this week. We have identified these criteria and skills, and will request feedback from SL Directors. The draft list of criteria follows.
We hope to have Unit Change Team members identified by November 1, so they can begin meeting\ shortly thereafter. |
