Planning ProcessThe UMD Strategic Plan was completed and approved during the 2010-2011 academic year. The following individuals and groups were most directly involved in this process:
The 2010-11 planning process included six elements.
During the 2011-12 academic year, Chancellor Black will lead the campus in implementing significant parts of strategic plan. Under the guidance of Dennis Falk, who is continuing his work as the Faculty Fellow for Strategic Planning, UMD is forming a new Integrated Strategic Advisory Team. This group will consult with Chancellor Black during the 2011-12 academic year to ensure that the Strategic Plan action steps align with the budget process to achieve the campus mission, the six goals, and the vision for 2020. Team members will model and promote the campus core values while working with Campus Assembly members, with colleagues in each Vice Chancellor unit, and with other important constituencies to implement the Strategic Plan. The team will also work with Professor Falk to develop a framework to assess progress on the Strategic Plan. The UMD planning process is guided by important values and principles.
