Facilities and Instrumentation

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is part of UMD's Swenson College of Science and Engineering which encompasses a thriving community of researchers, scholars, and resources in the fields of science and engineering.

Chemistry and Biochemistry research and classes are conducted primarily in two buildings on the UMD campus. The Swenson Science Building and the Chemistry Building offer outstanding facilities for faculty and students.

The Department also has a number of essential instruments to aid in research and study. In addition, the Swenson College of Science and Engineering coordinates shared resources between departments and organizations outside the University.
