Summer Undergraduate Research Programs: Application

The SURP research award is based on a competitive evaluation of academic performance, personal statement, transcript and letters of recommendation.

Award Requirements: Undergraduate students majoring in Chemistry or BMB who have completed at least two years of college level chemistry. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
Preference is given to students who (1) are completing the third year of the Chemistry or BMB curriculum, (2) plan to attend graduate school, and (3) have not previously received a SURP award.
In addition to working on a research project, students participate in research group meetings, social and recreational activities, and present a research poster at the end of the program.
Each award is $4,300. Housing, health insurance and transportation are not included.
