Summer Undergraduate Research Programs: Application
The SURP research award is based on a competitive evaluation of academic performance, personal statement, transcript and letters of recommendation.
- Award Requirements: Undergraduate students majoring in Chemistry or BMB who have completed at least two years of college level chemistry. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
- Preference is given to students who (1) are completing the third year of the Chemistry or BMB curriculum, (2) plan to attend graduate school, and (3) have not previously received a SURP award.
- In addition to working on a research project, students participate in research group meetings, social and recreational activities, and present a research poster at the end of the program.
- Each award is $4,300. Housing, health insurance and transportation are not included.
