Advising

Each entering Freshman in the Civil Engineering program is assigned an advisor based on their area of interest. The role of the advisor is to provide support, direction, and guidance to the student to help them reach their educational goals, experience academic success, and graduate in a timely manner. While students ultimately make their own decisions concerning their academic plans and careers, advisers assist them with the decision-making processes and the exploration of options. Students are encourage to meet with their advisor regularly to develop a better understanding of their responsibilities, the requirements of their curriculum, and other regulations. More information on the roles of advisors and students can be found at the SCSE Advising webpage.

For more information about your advisor or to schedule an appointment contact Jill Bergman by email (jbergma1@d.umn.edu) or by phone at 218-726-6444.
