The Center for Ethics & Public Policy

The Center for Ethics & Public Policy seeks to promote inquiry and debate about the ethical aspects of public policy issues. It sponsors open forums, panel discussions, seminars, and colloquia to which the public is invited. During the last few years the Center has hosted colloquia on civil disobedience, democratic participation, hunting and fishing ethics, physician-assisted suicide, health care funding and allocation, just war theory, and “living-wage” proposals.

The Center is a collaborative effort of the Departments of Philosophy and Political Science and is supported by the Office of the Dean. The Center complements the curricula of the Departments of Philosophy and Political Science. The Political Science Department offers a concentration in Public Policy and Philosophy Department offers a concentration in Applied Ethics.

The Director of the Center is Professor Sean Walsh.
