1. Write a question that you think would produce an interesting discussion about The Immense Journey. Think about the change in the meaning of the word "environmentalist" that occurred in the sixties. Instead of defining environmentalists as social scientists who explained animal and human behavior by reference to the "conditioning" of individual organisms, the generation of the sixties defined the term as a perspective which stressed the interrelationships between all living things and the physical world.
