CLA SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION CRITERIA
Students applying for a College of Liberal Arts Scholarship must have a
declared major in the College of Liberal Arts.

Applicants must be a UMD student during the 2006-2007 academic year.
!
Recipients must have completed 60 credits of course work by the end of
Spring Semester 2006 with an overall grade point average of 3.25.

30 credits of course work must have been completed at UMD
b.
Overall GPA of 3.25 in courses taken at UMD
!
A personal essay addressing the applicant’s collegiate academic
commitment to and achievement in the liberal arts must be submitted with
the application.
!
Applicants must have two written recommendations from UMD
faculty members.
!
Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.
Selection of the recipients and notification to the winners will be completed
by April 21, 2006.
