The faculty and administrative officers of the College of Education
and Human Service Professions are dedicated to preparing highly qualified
leaders in human service professions, including education, social work,
allied clinical health, mental health, and selected human service fields.
Students are prepared for employment in industry, school and non-school
educational settings, community agencies, and government.

About CLA:
The College of Liberal Arts emphasizes the foundations of knowledge
and techniques of analysis and expression essential for lifelong learning.
Critical thinking, imagination, curiosity, and healthy doubt tempered
by wisdom, tolerance, and a sense of humor are attributes of the truly
educated individual. The college is dedicated to accomplishing diversity
through greater representation of minorities and women in the faculty,
staff, and student population as well as through the integration of
materials relating to cultural diversity in the curriculum.

About COPD:
The College of Pharmacy, Duluth, through its Department of Pharmacy
Practice and Pharmaceutical Sciences, provides outstanding education,
excellence in research, and service to the public and other health
professions. The department emphasizes the provision of pharmaceutical
care in rural areas and rural health care issues, and we are committed
to providing these services to the communities of Greater Minnesota.
The college offers a four-year, professional program. Through faculty
collaboration and the use of distance teaching technology, course work
and practice experiences are the same as offered on the Twin Cities
campus.

About CE:
Continuing Education provides credit and noncredit learning opportunities
for a variety of students and participants. Through partnership with
other UMD colleges, Continuing Education offers evening, weekend, summer
and Individualized Instruction (INI) courses, and access to undergraduate
and post-baccalaureate degree and certificate programs. CE also offers
travel programs, professional development conferences and workshops,
distance learning opportunities, and programs for high school students
and older adults. Many Continuing Education courses and programs are
open to the public and official admission to UMD is not required for
participation.

About Graduate School:
Through the auspices of the University of Minnesota Graduate School,
programs exist at the University of Minnesota, Duluth Campus (UMD)
leading to the Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) degree in Art (emphasis
in graphic design). Additionally Master of Art (M.A.) degrees are offered
in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Criminology, and English.
The Master of Science (M.S.) degree is available in Applied and Computational
Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geological Sciences,
and Physics. In addition, the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.),
Master of Electrical and Computer Engineering (M.S.E.C.E.), the Master
of Science in Engineering Management (M.S.E.M.), the Master of Liberal
Studies (M.L.S.), the Master of Music (M.M.) (emphases in Music Education
and Performance), and the Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) are offered.
All-University M.S./Ph.D. programs in Toxicology and Water Resources
Science are offered jointly with the Twin Cities Campus. Also in cooperation
with the Twin Cities Campus are M.S./Ph.D. programs in Biochemistry,
Molecular Biology and Biophysics; Cellular and integrative Physiology;
Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology; and Pharmacology.

About Medical School Duluth:
The School of Medicine offers the first two
years of the four-year medical school curriculum. It covers basic medical
and clinical science studies with principal emphasis on the training
of family physicians. Students who successfully complete the program
at UMD will automatically transfer on a noncompetitive basis to complete
the last two years of their M.D. requirements at the University of
Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis.

About SFA:
The School of Fine Arts---composed of the
departments of art, music, and theatre; the Tweed Museum of Art, Glensheen;
and the Marshall Performing Arts Center---plays a leading role in fostering
the arts and serving as a cultural and artistic center for the campus
and northern Minnesota. The school provides a comprehensive education
for students in the visual and performing arts, including majors in
art and music education, and opportunities for those whose study in
other disciplines is complemented by the fine arts curriculum. The
school also offers selected graduate programs in art and music.
