Personal Statement:
I attended UMD myself as an undergraduate, and my last year at UMD I did a reporter internship at KBJR News in Duluth for nine months. After that I went to the University of Wisconsin-Superior and did my masters work focusing on analyzing verbal and nonverbal messages in television and movies. I started my teaching career at the University of Wisconsin-Superior in the Fall of 1999 and started teaching at UMD in the Spring of 2000. I really love teaching and the students that I teach and I cant imagine doing anything else.
I was born and raised in Duluth and we recently built a house in the Pike Lake area. When I am not teaching I enjoy camping, fishing, gardening, traveling, and other outdoor activities with my family. My family keeps me very busy, which consists of my husband, Jim, my son Ethan 2 ½ , and we also have a new baby on the way in June.
