The Communication Program at UMD offers a liberal arts major emphasizing the diversity of the communication field.

Students who major in Communication at UMD can graduate with an understanding of human interpersonal communication interactions, the functions of the media in today's society, the methods and uses of persuasion and the intersection of communication and health. Students will develop the skills needed for effective public speaking, analytic writing, and critical reasoning.
