Each graduate will receive four guest tickets. The number of tickets each graduate receives is determined by dividing the number of fixed seats in the DECC arena by the final number of graduates who turned in their Commencement Attendance Questionnaire by February 4, 2008.
Guest tickets will be distributed April 7 to April 25 in UMD Stores Express, which is located at 109 Kirby Plaza across from the Northern Shores Coffee Shop. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To receive tickets, students must show identification.
A lottery will be held to distribute any extra or unclaimed tickets. Please only enter the lottery once; duplicate entries will be deleted. To sign up for the lottery, click here.
A drop box will be available in UMD Stores Express, which is located at 109 Kirby Plaza across from the Northern Shores Coffee Shop. Graduates are encouraged to turn in extra tickets for distribution during the lottery.
Lost tickets will not be replaced.
Arrangements will be made to distribute tickets to fall semester graduates who have left Duluth. If you are unable to pick up your guest tickets in UMD Stores Express, send an email with the address information to the Commencement Committee.
Guest tickets will be general admission, with no assigned seats. The arena doors will open at 10 a.m. on May 17, commencement day. The guest seating will be in the upper level of the arena; the graduates will sit in chairs on the arena floor.
Guests need tickets to comply with the Duluth fire marshal's policy prohibiting overcrowding at DECC events. The tickets will guarantee that your guests aren't turned away at the door by the fire marshal.
