Mission

Our mission is to improve and enrich the working and learning environments for UMD women by providing direction, leadership, support, and expertise to the UMD community.

UMD's Commission on Women has two primary objectives:

1. To remove obstacles and barriers limiting or having a negative impact on women's academic performance, productivity, or advancement, and

2. To create new programs, structures, and opportunities for women designed to enhance performance, productivity, and advancement.
