UMD's Communication Sciences and Disorders Club Hosts Benefit Concert for Local Laryngectomy Patients

The Communication Sciences and Disorders Club has been very busy this spring. We have planned a benefit concert with all proceeds going to a regional laryngectomy support group. The support group plans to use these funds to send recent laryngectomy patients to an international voice convention held in North Carolina this June. There they will learn how to cope with the changes made to their lives and how to live with the changes their bodies have undergone.

The concert will be held on March 23rd at Clyde Iron Works, Duluth. The night before the spring semester's Eddy Lecture. If you are attending the lecture and plan on staying in Duluth the night before, we encourage you to attend our event. Come enjoy good music and great fun while supporting a good cause. A member of our club, senior student Harrison Olk is the banjo player of Tin Can Gin.

If you are interested in purchasing pre-sale tickets send an email with subject: 'RSVP' to forst078@d.umn.edu. Write your name and how many tickets you desire in the body of the email. Your name will be put on a list, and you will pay $7.00 per person of your party when you get to the event. Ticket pre-sale ends March 2nd.

Tickets will also be sold at the door for those who have not RSVP'd for $10.00.
