UMD's Techfest 2008
CSD students and faculty present the latest Augmentative Communication and Assistive Technology devices. The featured device was MyTobii, which allows the user to interact directly with applications on the computer screen via eye gaze.
The Third Annual CSD Research Celebration
Nine graduate students from the CSD Graduate Program presented their graduate research projects at the Third Annual CSD Research Celebration. Research topics incluided assistive technology, dementia, dysphagia, fluency, sensory integration, and telecommunication practices.
UMD Faculty and Students Return Home from The First China International Conference on Speech Therapy
The First China International Conference on Speech Therapy, co-hosted by the University of Minnesota Duluth, the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and the Beijing Rehabilitation Medical Association brought together speech-language pathologists, and related clinical rehabilitation professionals in Beijing, April 7-9. A theme of “clinical applications” permeated the 24 presentations from 22 institutions, representing China, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and the United States to provide attendees with current information about the diagnosis and the treatment of speech, hearing, language, and swallowing disorders. The co-sponsors of the conferences have agreed to have the next conference in 2009. (UMD News)
