   Travel to the web site: http://www.d.umn.edu/cehsp/ids.html to find out more about IDS and the upcoming events for Fall Semester 2001! Five sessions of Tech Talk III and four sessions of Teaching Tips will be held this fall.

ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE
   Accessible transportation assistance is available on the UMD Campus. Departments are encouraged to arrange transportation for individuals with mobility limitations at the same time they arrange their other University sponsored travel transportation needs. Possible sources for this transportation include Care Cab (723-1212) or Northern Access (728-5464). Requests for reimbursement of costs should be submitted to the UMD Business Office, 209 DAdB. Questions regarding transportation arrangements, reimbursement requirements, and this procedure should be directed to Greg Sather, UMD Business Office, 726-6137 or email gsather@d.umn.edu.

CHANGE YOUR INFO IN THE CAMPUS DIRECTORY NOW!
   There are only a few days left to make sure your information is correct in the campus directory. First check your information by going to the "People" section on the UMD Home Page. If something is wrong go to:
http://www.d.umn.edu/umdhr
and go to Update Personal Information to enter your email log in and password. Check all the tabs across the top of the page. Questions? Contact Human Resources at 726-7161 or Academic Administration at 726-7103.

RECYCLE AND SAVE THE EARTH
   The UMD Recycling Office encourages everyone to participate in recycling on campus to reduce waste and help preserve the environment. There are bins located throughout campus to recycle aluminum cans, plastic bottles, office paper, magazines, and newspapers. If you need bins or a brochure about recycling, contact 726-8144. Desktop boxes are also available upon request. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

   Do you have questions about how to use the UMD logo? Are you interested in the University's recommended typefonts? All of the information is on the web. Go to

NEWS FROM UMD STORES
   CAMPUS BOOKS EVENTS: There will be a color film reprint special from Monday, September 17 through Saturday, September 22. Some exclusions apply.
   
Campus Books will sponsor Earth Friendly Days from Monday, September 17-Thursday, September 20. Register for a free basket of recycled products from the UMD Stores! On Wednesday, September 19, Tom Elwell, from the DTA, will give information on the value of bus ridership and he will also have information about a FREE trip to Mexico.
   
On Thursday, September 20, Campus Books will be giving away free Norway Pine seedlings beginning at 10 am (while supplies last).
   On Wednesday, September 19 there will be a 20% off Book Sale in Campus Books. Some exclusions apply.
   On Tuesday, September 25 and Wednesday, September 26, the UMD Stores will give away free Campus Trial Packs from 8 am - 4 pm each day.
MARKETPLACE EVENT:
   On Wednesday, September 19, come into the Marketplace for a free ice cream cone from noon - 1:30 pm (or while supplies last). No purchase is necessary.

DARLAND CONNECTION
   
The Darland Intergenerational Program has changed its name to The Darland Connection. The Darland Connection places UMD students as tutors/mentors in area schools, community centers and alternative settings. Last year they placed 869 tutors at 56 sites tutor/mentoring 8,550 children compiling 19,635 hours of direct service. For more information contact Casey LaCore at 726-7125.
