RIEHL RECEIVES LEADERSHIP CHAIR
CSE Dean James P. Riehl was recently awarded the
McKnight Presidential Leadership Chair which recognizes the contributions
of unique and gifted leaders among deans and executive officers. Award
winners are recognized not only for their extraordinary scholarly achievements,
but also for their role as respected leaders and mentors. Riehl will present
a seminar of his current research titled Chemistry and Life in a
Right-handed World at 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 21 in Montague
Hall Room 80. A reception will follow the presentation in the Tweed Museum.

UMD STORES NEWS
UMD Stores now has fresh flowers available for
sale in their street level store. Through October 27, visit the street
level store and register to win a free three-foot fiber optic Pumpkin
Trio. The annual UMD Stores Balloon Sale featuring 20-80% off UMD Wear
and UMD imprinted gifts will be held in the street level store from 7:30
a.m. - 8 p.m on October 27. For the October monthly art specials, a 28-piece
drawing set in a nifty tin is featured at a special price. Watch for UMD
Stores new commercial featuring Super Fan during WDIO TVs airing
of UMD Mens Hockey games. There is a great selection of UMD Wear
& Gifts at the Bulldog Shop during UMD Mens and Womens
Hockey games at the DECC and during UMD Football games in Malosky Stadium
at Griggs Field. Bargain CDs, DVDs, and videos are on sale in UMD Stores,while
supplies last.
HOMECOMING DECORATING WINNERS
The grand prize winner for the UMD homecoming decorating
contest, a $100 gift certificate for Bulldog Pizza and Grill, went to
University Relations and Development, 315 Darland Admininsitration Building.
Honorary certificates were presented to the following offices: Most Extravagant
Decorating went to the Rec Sports and Outdoor Program Office, Most Creative
Decorations went to the College of Science and Engineering, and Best Homecoming
Theme went to the Speech and Language Clinic.
