COMMENCEMENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Commencement Committee is once again looking for volunteers for UMDs
commencement ceremonies. Last year, several UMD employees and students
enjoyed volunteering, and the committee hopes that others will consider
helping graduates celebrate their special day. The Graduate Program Ceremony
will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 12 in the Romano Gymnasium.
Volunteers are needed from 5 - 7 p.m. to hand out programs, to line up
the graduates, and to answer guest and student questions. The Undergraduate
Program Ceremony will be held at noon on Saturday, May 14 in the
DECC Arena. Once again, guest tickets are required for the Undergraduate
Commencement Ceremony. So far, about 1,100 students are participating
in the ceremony. Volunteers will receive a special seat in the VIP section
on the arena floor for the commencement ceremony. Volunteers are needed
from 10 a.m. to noon to help the graduates line up, to hand out programs,
and to help guests in the VIP section. This is a great opportunity to
be part of UMDs largest annual celebration. If you are interested
in volunteering, call Lucy Kragness at 726-6176. Volunteers will review
their responsibilities on Wednesday, May 11 at 2 p.m. in the Regents Room
