PIZZA WITH THE PROF SEMINAR SERIES
The UMD Honors Program invites faculty to present
their research and have a pizza lunch with UMD Honors students in the
Fall 2005 semester. Every other week on Tuesday or Wednesday from noon
- 1 p.m., UMD Honors will sponsor a chance for faculty to share their
work with our honors students. These talks not only expose our students
to the variety and scope of faculty research at UMD, but also lead to
UROP, NCUR, and honors thesis collaborations. The room (with media cabinet),
the pizza, the pop, and the audience are provided by the Honors program.
Contact Beth Matson at hons@d.umn.edu or
call 726-8548, to schedule a time for fall semester.
YMCA AWARD
The YMCA has selected the UMD Psychology Department
as this years recipient of the Building Strong Kids award. The YMCA gives
this award annually to an organization or individual that goes above and
beyond the call to support children and families through the Duluth Area
Family YMCA. The award was presented to the department at a luncheon in
March. Those recognized were Bud McClure, Sandy Woolum, Matt Coleman,
Mike Sullivan, Paula Pedersen, and Karen Lohn, among others.
