Check your personal listing at: http://www.d.umn.edu/people/. This information is the data that will appear in the UMD Campus Directory. The deadline for the Campus Directory book is September 18.
If something needs to be changed, added or deleted, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Click on “People” on the UMD Home Page.
Step 2: Select “Updating Your Information” from the bottom of the page
Step 3: Enter your ID number (X.500 username) and password on the pop-up page
Step 4: Use the pulldown menu to choose General information, Personal addresses, Office addresses, Telephone numbers, Emergency Contacts and Directory Suppression.

The College of Pharmacy, Duluth, is scheduling appointments for their Pharmaceutical Care Clinic.This fall’s clinic is a required activity for third year student pharmacists and provides an opportunity for them to help people with their medications under the supervision of an experienced pharmacist. During the appointment, the student pharmacist will conduct a thorough review of medical history and medications. Following the appointment, the student will work to develop a plan for ensuring medications are used appropriately, are working, are safe, and are convenient and will provide recommendations to resolve any medication related problems. Because patients are participating in our student’s education, this service is free. To receive more information or to schedule an appointment, please call 218-726-6800. Clinics are scheduled for the afternoons of October 16 and 17 and November 6, 7, 20, and 21.

Brad Dekkers has chosen by The Isaak Walton League as a National Conservation Scholarship winner. Dekkers is currently completing his UMD degree as an intern for the U.S. Forest Service in the Lolo National Forest in Montana. He is helping develop a management plan for the Rattlesnake Wilderness Area.
Benjamin Mattila has been honored by the Brule River Sportmen’s Club with a scholarship to help him finish his studies at UMD. Mattila is currently using Geographic Information Systems to aid resource managers out of the Two Harbors DNR office as a part of his Outdoor Education Internship.

KUMD-FM has added a new service to its website at kumd.org that provides free, on-demand access to selected in-studio performances recorded live at the station. In addition, listeners can sign-up on the KUMD website to receive a weekly email newsletter that announces who will be performing live in the studio that week, and newly added sessions to the on-demand service. To sign-up for the weekly newsletter, to listen to the on-demand sessions, or to listen to KUMD from anywhere online, go to KUMD.org. Anyone with questions about the service can call the station at 726-7181.

Bohannon Hall will be renovated during a one-year period beginning on September 1.
1. CEHSP Student Affairs Office and Psychology Peer Advisers have been temporarily relocated to Sports and Health Center 121 through August 26, 2007.
2. Remaining residents of Bohannon Hall will be temporarily relocated to the Chester Park facility at the corner of College Street and Woodland Avenue, effective September 1 through August 26, 2007.
Faculty and Staff members being relocated to Chester Park include: Departments of Psychology, Social Work, and Communication Sciences and Disorders; CEHSP Administration, Academic Technology, and American Indian Programs; Darland Connection, Civic Engagement and American Democracy; Instructional Development Service; and American Indian Learning Resource Center.

UMD prohibits smoking in all indoor facilities, including faculty and staff offices and the cafeteria in the Kirby Plaza. UMD Human Resources has a "Quick 10 for 10" program. Faculty and staff can take 10 minutes a day to do physical activities and earn 10 points. Those who keep track of points from September 4 through December 10 will receive an incentive gift. See: http://www.d.umn.edu/umdhr/wellness/fall2006/.

UMD Human Resources encourages faculty and staff to go for a walk to QuickCare Clinic the first Wednesday of every month from September to December, sign up for a drawing. Participants will be eligible to win a choice of wellness and exercise accessories (i.e., exercise DVD’s, dumb bells, exercise balls, etc.). The UMD Health, Wellness & Safety Awareness Fair coordinated by UMD Human Resources is scheduled on November 2nd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Kirby Ballroom. Departments may request to schedule training on the use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for their faculty, staff, and student employees. Some departments schedule it during their staff meeting. To submit a request, fill out the form at http://www.d.umn.edu/umdhr/aed/regform.htm. The use of the AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) will be demonstrated and the First Response Procedures for a medical emergency will be discussed. The training is presented by Norbert Norman of the Office of Environmental Health & Safety. Make a valuable contribution to the community by participating in the Kirby Student Center’s Blood Drive from 1 - 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 5. The check-in site will be at the Bus Hub entrance to Kirby (next to the Street Level Bookstore). The bloodmobile, operated by conducted by Memorial Blood Centers (MBC), will be located just outside of Kirby Student Center, on the south side of the Dining Center skywalk. Group Fitness Classes begin September 11. Passes are on sale now in the new Recreational Sports Outdoor Program office, SpHC 153. For a complete schedule of classes and class descriptions, go towww.umdrsop.org.
UMD faculty and staff may purchase Annual Facility and Group Fitness passes for 2006-2007 by payroll deduction now through September 29.After September 29 annual passes may only be purchased with check, cash or credit card. All deductions will begin on the pay period ending October 15, 2006 for the October 25 pay date. This is not a pre-tax deduction. Payroll deduction forms are available in the Recreational Sports Outdoor Program Office, 153 SpHC. You must bring your U-card with you when purchasing passes. Costs are: Annual Facility pass $127 (63.50 per two pay periods), Annual Group Fitness pass $125 (62.50 per two pay periods), All Rec Sports pass $230 (76.66, 76.66 and 76.68). This is a combined Annual Facility/Group Fitness pass. For more information call726-7128.

A Resource Fair kicks off the Parents and Family Weekend 2006 for families of all UMD students. The fair will run from 9 - 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, in the Kirby Ballroom, just prior to the welcome by Chancellor Martin. Reservations will be made on a first come basis. UReturn is an integrated program designed to assist and support all University faculty and staff who experience an illness or injury, either work-related or non-work-related. It offers access to a variety of University services that continues through recovery, return to work, or ongoing employment. Textbook returns will be held in UMD Stores, Etc. from Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., September 5-14. Cash for Books Buyback will be in Kirby Student Center on Thursday and Friday, September 7-8, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Students enrolled for the current term who have an active U Card may use their U Card for purchasing textbooks, laptops, and other merchandise at UMD Stores. A picture ID must be presented along with the U Card for all purchases. Charges will be reflected on their student account and will be billed along with their tuition and fees.

Stop by UMD Stores street level to see the new fall arrivals in the clothing and gift areas. UMD Stores has back packs, handbags, computer bags, totes, slings, messenger bags, and drawstring cinch saks for 25% off through September 17. Purchase a qualifying computer and get a free iPod at UMD Stores Computer Corner through September 16. The 2006-2007 UMD academic planners are available in both the street and lower levels.

UMD Market Day in the Plaza is every Wednesday from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in UMD Kirby Plaza (1120 Kirby Drive) through September 27. The Farmer’s Market offers a fresh assortment of cut flowers, skin and health products, vegetables, fruits, and more. There’s something new every week.
