MORRIS K. UDALL SCHOLARSHIP
UMD students in fields relating to the environment, and Native American and Alaskan students in fields related to health care or tribal public policy, are invited to apply for Morris K. Udall Scholarships. Because environmental issues can be approached in a multi-disciplinary way, the scholarship is offered to students from a broad range of disciplines. Majors include: environmental engineering science/studies/engineering, other natural sciences, natural resource management, agriculture, biology, cultural studies, history, public policy, pre-law anthropology, American Indian studies, philosophy, political science, sociology, tribal policy, economic development, government, history, theatre, English, ecology, landscape architecture, public health, and health policy. To be considered, students must be nominated by their institution. The UMD institutional deadline for receipt of completed applications is at 4:30 p.m. on January 4, 2008.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE NOMINATION
Submit nominations for the Outstanding Service Award between now and 3 p.m. on December 21. The program was developed to recognize the outstanding contributions of UMD’s AFSCME (clerical, technical and health care), civil service (non bargaining unit) and academic professional/administrative (P&A) employees who do not hold faculty rank. Halloween gifts will be on sale in UMD Stores street level through November 4 and Duluth gift items will be 25% off in EXPRESS from November 5 - 11.

UMD hockey fan items are now available in UMD Stores street level. UMD Stores is a sponsor of UMD Women’s Hockey and will be sponsoring the game on November 18. Get a free UMD hockey puck at the game while supplies last.

New UMD Wear is arriving every day. UMD Stores street level has a selection of UMD and Duluth-themed gift items. New products includes vases, mugs, signs, small beaded jewelry cases, and key chains. A selection of Royal Canadian Mounted Police merchandise from the Tweed Museum is now available in UMD Stores street level.

UMD Stores EXPRESS is now open from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at 109 Kirby Plaza, across from Northern Shores Coffee Shop. Each week, select sale merchandise will be featured from a wide variety of merchandise.

UMD Stores Sidewalk Sale will be November 13 and 14 in KSC from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
