PLANETARIUM
The Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium holds free public shows at the planetarium
every Wed. evening at 7 pm. Shows include: Arrowhead Astronomical Society

make music together to develop better learning skills for the child. For

SERVICE TRIP
Volunteers from UMD and Duluth will help re-build homes in Gulfport, Miss.
from March 14-21. Volunteer leaders are coordinating the effort through
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA, http://www.pcusa.org/pda/); the
trip is open to people of all faiths, and ways of understanding. Volunteers
must be 18 years of age, be in good physical condition, and have an open
and flexible attitude. The registration fee is $375 per person. Payment
is due by Feb. 6, 2009.
This trip is coordinated by the Diversity Commission and Lutheran/United
Campus Ministries of UMD. For more info about the trip and/or to request

RSOP BREAK TRIPS
The Recreational Sports Outdoor Program is offering three trips to UMD
faculty and students. The winter break trip is an Everglades sea kayaking
adventure, held from Jan. 11-16. The spring break trips, held March 14-22,
are Backpacking the Appalachian Trail and Surfing in Southern California.

GLENSHEEN
Holiday Tea for Dolly and Me is an event where children bring their special
doll to Glensheen. This production includes a holiday program and a tea
and is held at 2 pm on Sat., Dec. 13.
Glensheen’s Holiday Brunches and Tours will be held on Saturdays.,
and Sun., Dec.13, 14, 20, and 21. The tour begins at 10 am with brunch
following.
Living Literature: Truman Capote’s “A Christmas Memory”
will be held at 7 pm on Dec. 18, 19, and 20.
The first tour at Glensheen begins daily at 9:30 am, and last tour begins
at 4 pm. Glensheen is open during weekends, Sat. and Sun. from 10 am -
3 pm.
