2010 FACULTY AWARDS
A number of faculty members at UMD will be recognized at a special campus reception on Mon., May 3 in Griggs Center.

The Jean G. Blehart Distinguished Teaching Award recipient is Bruce Peckham, professor, Mathematics & Statistics.

The Chancellor’s Distinguished Research Award recipient is Joseph Gallian, professor, Mathematics & Statistics.

The Outstanding Faculty Adviser recipients include: Marian Colman, instructor, Art & Design; Jennifer Jones, associate professor, Sociology/Anthropology; Carol Kivi, instructor, psychology; Bruce Peckham, professor, Mathematics & Statistics; Rajiv Vaidyanathan, professor, Marketing.

The Albert Tezla Teacher/Scholar Award recipient is Alison Aune, associate professor.

The Graduate and Professional Education recipient is Kang James, professor, Mathematics and Statistics.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION ALUMNI
Presentations were made at the 2010 Minnesota Association for Environmental Education state conference by six alumni from the UMD M.Ed in Environmental Education program along with UMD faculty member, Julie Ernst. In addition, the current board of the Minnesota Association for Environmental Education is made up of 11 members, of which the current president and vice president and three additional members graduated from the UMD program.
