Bulldog Club
What is the Bulldog Club? The Bulldog Club is an all-sport booster
organization dedicated to the providing advice, assistance, financial
support, fan support and community leadership to the University
of Minnesota Duluth Intercollegiate Athletic Program.
Who manages the Bulldog Club? A board of trustees, composed of
people who reflect the diverse nature of UMD athletics, heads the
Bulldog Club. Membership is open to anyone interested in supporting
and advancing UMD Athletics. Members undertake various activities
and projects through subcommittees, which report to the board.
Ways to contribute
Although monetary contributions are the most common method of
supporting the Bulldog Club, other ways, including gifts-in-kind,
deferred or planned gifts, gifts of insurance policies, stocks,
or securities, and group gifts are welcomed. All monetary donations
are deposited into and monitored as part of the Rasmussen Fund,
which was established in 1962 to provide scholarships for UMD athletes
who qualify on the basis of character, academic achievement, and
athletic skill. Contributions to the Bulldog Club may also be made
to a variety of endowment funds.
Must I pay in full?
No. You may pay in quarterly installments.
How does the membership year run?
Contributions to the Bulldog Club are welcomed anytime. However,
you should complete the payment of you pledge by April 30 of the
academic year in which you make your pledge.
Can I specify who receives my contribution?
You may designate your gift to be used for a certain sport, a
specific purpose, scholarships, etc., or for unrestricted purposes.
What do I receive?
Besides knowing you are an important part of the UMD athletic
success story, Bulldog club members are acknowledged in a number
of ways, depending on the level of contribution. Some of the benefits
include parking permits for the DECC, discounts to the Bulldog
Shop, free multi-sport tickets, men’s hockey game program
recognition, access to hospitality rooms, and Bulldog Club Luncheon
passes.
Success
True success in a collegiate athletic program requires a balance
between competitive victories and academic achievements. The consistent
performances of Bulldog athletics in both arenas place the UMD
athletic program among the nation’s elite. Such balance and
consistency are the result of superior coaching, a comprehensive
athletic academic support system, and plain old hard work. But
in order to develop successful Bulldog teams and student-athletics,
UMD’s coaches must recruit talented, intelligent, quality
young women and men. The Bulldog Club, through your contribution,
preserves UMD’s athletic tradition by funding scholarships,
which are essential in attracting gifted student-athletes. Imagine
the pride of knowing that your support plays a direct role in the
Bulldogs’ next WCHA or NSIC title, or that your contribution
has helped a young man or woman earn a college degree. Bulldog
victories, in the arena and in the classroom, begin with You.
