Capital Campaign
In 1996, the University of Minnesota Duluth established a goal
to raise $22 million in a capital campaign called “Campaign
Minnesota.” In 1998 the target was increased to $28 million
and UMD set goals that would be tough to meet: to establish endowments
for student and faculty needs, to enhance existing facilities, to
invest heavily in technological education and to continue institutional
growth. The campaign closed on June 30, 2003 and, UMD has not only
met the goal, we have surpassed it. The gifts and pledges total
37.5 million.
