The next Ben and Jeanne Overman Distinguished Speakers Series is scheduled for the spring of 2012, and we welcome your suggestions for an engaging and expert speaker. This biennial series offers an opportunity for students to learn from and for community members to hear a lecturer considered to be an expert in their field, either regionally or globally. Of particular interest are people who have become successful in their field of endeavor and then use that success to help others achieve similar successes.
Also of note, this event invites involvement from school children 6th grade throughout high school, as well as from members of the Duluth Boys and Girls Clubs. A desired speaker for this event would appeal to a multi-generational audience of both lay and learned individuals. The Series is free and open to the public.
Past speakers include: explorer and adventurer Anne Bancroft, congresswoman Betty McCollom, and author Joseph Shuster.
