In Memory of Dr. Vernon Opheim: A New Scholarship

A new scholarship fund created by his friends and past students to remember and honor the late Dr. Vernon Opheim will help young music professionals advance their education in the Department of Music at UMD.

Fund 8750 - UMD Dr. Vernon Opheim Choral Scholarship will provide financial support for UMD music students who are considering a career in choral directing and music education. Scholarship candidates should be actively performing in choral ensembles at UMD. The intent of the donors is to build this initial demand fund to a quasi-endowment level of $10,000.
