Programs in the Department of Education are currently in conditional approved status (with the exception of approved Special Education programs) and are proceeding through review during the summer of 2015. They will be reviewed by the Minnesota Board of Teaching (BOT) for teacher licensure through an on-going process of program and institutional reviews. The Board of Teaching reviews assure that our programs meet the state Standards of Effective Practice and provide prospective teachers quality preparation. The Department programs are also nationally accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), soon to be the Council for the Accreditation for Educator Preparation (CAEP). The Education Department participates in an on-going cycle of evidenced-based accreditation with NCATE (CAEP) to assure quality preparation of our Education graduates.
