Arrowhead "Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology" Project

This is the "legacy" Web site for the Arrowhead "Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology" (APT3) Project. This UMD project was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education's "Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology" (PT3) Program from 2000-2003.

Site Goals:

• Document the work of 18 APT3 collaboratories.
• Provide more than 45 technology-rich lessons - field tested by 18 APT3 collaboratories over three years.
• Highlight APT3 dissemination activities, particularly the Boston Connection, a cultural diversity immersion experience that began with APT3's diversity and videoconferencing initiatives.

UMD's APT3 Project cost $3,425,556 over three years.

• The U.S. Department of Education, through its PT3 Program, provided $1,296,033 (38 percent).
• The University of Minnesota Duluth, Duluth Public Schools (ISD 709) and non-public partners contributed $2,129,523 (62 percent).
• Another partner was the Fond du Lac Education Division and Ojibwe Schools; their contributions were not included as matching funds, because they receive federal support.
