Technology Use by UMD Education StudentsOne way the UMD students can enhance their use of technology in teaching is by doing a Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) project. 2002-03 UROPs Featuring Education and Technology:
Meg Vinkmeier (pictured) and Tara Netland (who set up this display) worked on Integrating Technology Tools into Teaching/Learning Social Studies in the Framework of American Indian Learner Outcomes in a 4th Grade Classroom. The University of Minnesota's Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program offers financial awards twice yearly to full time undergraduates for research, scholarly, or creative projects undertaken in partnership with a faculty member. It encourages students to conduct research and pursue academic interests outside of their regular courses by employing them to work on special research projects. CEHSP students are eligible and encouraged to apply. Complete information for the program is available on the UROP University of Minnesota site. |
