| Glisczinski, Daniel Joseph | I'm interested in learning more about experiences that transform our perspectives on ourselves, others, and our worlds. Transformative learning theory suggests that such experiences create increasingly deep and accurate understandings of society. I'm currently working on project aimed at better understanding how intercultural and international education assist in cognitive and affective transformation. The aim of improving such understanding is to develop curriculum and related experiences that support perspective transformation as a central aim in the lives of all learners.
My research focuses on experiences that transform people's perspectives toward greater accuracy, inclusiveness, and insight. Ranging from international education, to experiential education, to education psychology, and education technology, I'm interested in studying conditions that help create useful cognitive dissonance, critical reflection, rational dialogue, and active experimentation in pursuit of deeper understanding. |
