The University of Minnesota College of Education and Human Service Professions Department of Education is an energetic and diverse program with 27 undergraduate licensure areas, post baccalaureate programs, Education Administration licensure program, a Master of Education degree, an Ed.D. in Teaching and Learning degree, 2 minors, American Sign Language, and an Academic English Language Program, We have faculty, staff, graduate student assistants and work study students available to assist students, teachers and families. Each year we are busy teaching, advising, conducting research, engaging in community service, placing students in classrooms locally, regionally and abroad. After my arrival in 2000 to UMD, I soon realized this was the place where I wanted to be. The faculty and staff are always willing to help students as they work to complete their programs. The Department of Education is student centered and prepares teacher candidates that are recognized across the world for their ability to step into a classroom fully prepared to meet the needs of today?s students. I extend the warmest of welcome to new students, potential students, family members, and others who may be visiting our website.
