OBJECTIVES:

Fuzzy set theory, neural networks, genetic algorithms, data clustering techniques, and several stochastic optimization methods that do not require gradient information which is aimed at solving real world decision-making, modeling, and control problem.

Exchange Students From Kazakhstan


Four graduate students Zhandos Uzdenbayev, Aigul Akezhanova, Nazira Shaikhova, and Anton Sassa (see picture) from the East Kazakhstan State Technical University (EKSTU), Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan will visit UMD between December 1-9, 2009.
It is a start of the exchange program between the Swenson College of Science and Engineering UMD and the Informational Technologies and Power Engineering College, EKSTU.
Our quests will deliver the seminar on Kazakhstan and their master projects on Thursday, December 3, from 12:00 -13:00 in room MWAH 102.
Prof. Marian S. Stachowicz (
mstachow@d.umn.edu) from ECE department, who visited EKSTU year ago, is involved in this exchange program.
