Emergency Call Procedure

In case any emergency, reporting employees or students 
  • Always dial 911 from a safe location
  • Provide operator with the following information:
    • Your name and phone number;
    • Your location: Building name, floor and room numbers;
    • Nature of the emergency (fire, medical, chemical spill, etc);
    • Number of injured people if any, and nature of injuries if known;
    • Nearest building entrance where emergency personnel should go.
  • Ask someone to or meet the emergency personnel outside of the building, and direct them to the emergency location.
  • If it is safe to do so, stay on line until you are excused by emergency operator.
IMPORTANT:  Please print and post the new Emergency Telephone Numbers and Contact Information Form by the telephone in all main offices, lab,  or department to make sure emergency numbers are readily available to employees and to emergency responders to use in cases of emergencies.

When filling out the above form You must include responsible staff personal phone numbers (home or cell) so that emergency response personnel may call the responsible staff to shut down equipment, to assist saving valuable research or equipment etc, if the incident occurred after hours or on holidays
