The Department of English is a mid-sized department in a regional campus of the University of Minnesota system. The department is comprised of ten faculty with teaching and research interests in English, Irish and American literatures; world literature; creative writing; and teaching English. Faculty here take an active role in advising approximately 200 majors in our liberal arts (B.A.) and English education (B.A.A.) programs. The English graduate program--comprised of eighteen English and Composition faculty who offer courses in literature, critical theory, rhetoric and composition, and linguistics--is relatively small (20-25 students) and has three M.A. emphases: literary studies, English studies, and publishing & print culture.
