Pre-Graduate Studies Track
Specially designed for students who plan to study literature in graduate school, the Pre-Graduate Studies track provides a more intensive program in literary studies than the other two English major tracks. Core courses cover the methods of literary research and analysis, a range of literary forms and genres, and literary history from the medieval age to the 21st century. In addition to these core courses, students choose one of several specialized courses on each of the following topics: American literature; British literature; a literary genre such as the novel, poetry, or drama; a single author of special importance to literary history; and linguistics.
