The Center for Indigenous Knowledge Revitalization (Eni-gikendaasoyang) at the University of Minnesota Duluth is seeking a full-time, 10-month Language Nest Teacher to begin August 11, 2008. Enweyang is a language nest school for children five years old by September 1st.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Job duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Works daily in the classroom with children (1/2 day).
- Develops curriculum and assists with administrative planning of Nest (1/2 day).
Qualifications
- Exceptional oral and written proficiency in Ojibwe language.
- Minnesota Teaching License – or Eligible for - Elementary Education/ Primary Junior Level.
- A background study and reference verification that meets requirements of State of MN State Human Services Licensing Act, Rule 11.
- A test of oral and written proficiency will be administered at interview
