He was the 26th President of the United States; The “teddy bear” was named after him; He was a “Rough Rider” in the Spanish-American War. He protected over 230 million acres of wilderness. He went on safari, collecting over 500 specimens, some of which ended up at the Smithsonian Institute. In this special project with the White House Historical Association, the Kennedy Center stages an exciting new musical inspired by President Theodore Roosevelt and his family!

Teddy Roosevelt and the Treasure of Ursa Major, started a four-month, 33-city national tour in early January. Simon & Schuster has published a book version of the play, with award-winning author Ronald Kidd doing the adaptation. First Lady Laura Bush wrote the foreword to the book, and Isbell did a book signing at Barnes & Noble on February 10.
