Join the MOOvement for New Menu Options at UMD

Grass Fed BeefThis week marks the beginning of the MOOvement in the Center Court Restaurant to provide and serve locally raised, grass-fed beef hamburgers from Sandy Hills Ranch in Barnum. 

On Thursday, April 26, the campus community and the public are invited for a “Local Foods” dinner in the Dining Center.  

Dining hours -- 4:30-7 pm 
Cost: $8.90 plus tax

The dinner will highlight:

  • hamburgers made from locally raised beef from Troy Salzer’s Sandy Hills Ranch
  • homemade wild rice burgers
  • Juneberry-rhubarb crisp - the juneberries were picked and harvested on the UMD campus
  • roasted potatoes
  • sustainably grown vegetables from the Fisher-Merritt Farm in Wrenshall  and Sandy Hills Ranch in Barnum

The Sandy Hills Ranch sustainable meat producer, Troy Salzer, will be available for a “Meat and Greet” from 5-6 pm.

On Saturday, April 28, participate in Community Wellness Day.
This free event will focus on the important connection between sustainably grown foods and the community and is an opportunity to improve health, safety, financial literacy, and environmental awareness.  Read more about this event.
