The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) presents its fourth annual Northland Community Wellness Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 in the Romano Gym.
This annual event promotes healthy families and communities through education and awareness covering things such as health and fitness, public safety, environmental awareness, and financial literacy.
Keynote speaker Paul Batz will present: “What Really Works: blending the F’s for the time you imagine: faith, family, finances, fitness, friends, fun, and future." Batz will speak in the Marshall Performing Arts Center at 1 p.m.
Children’s games and activities will be led by UMD Athletes and participants can enjoy free rock climbing. Food and smoothies are for sale from the Duluth Grill. Admission and parking is free.
Over 50 community vendors will present information and interactive opportunities for participants.St. Louis County, City of Duluth Bridge to Wellness and UMD Health Services are the coordinators of the event. UMD campus sponsors include KUMD 103.3 FM, Recreational Sports Outdoor Programs, UMD Athletics, and UMD Stores.
Community sponsors include: Whole Foods Co-op, Wells Fargo, Duluth Grill, Essentia Health, KBJR-Range 6 and 11, Holistic Health and Healing, Duluth Sign, and Duluth Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram.
