UMD Ranks Among the "Best Colleges" by U.S. News and World Report

UMD ranks as one of the Top Ten Public Schools in the Midwest in the just released U.S. News and World Report issue of “America’s Best Colleges” 2016 edition. It was #7 on the list.

UMD also ranked #36 among top public and private Midwest Institutions, as an "A-plus school for B students," and as having one of the best engineering and business programs.

“I’m extremely proud of this news. It’s a reflection of the innovative learning that happens at UMD, and of our outstanding faculty and staff who are leaders in their fields,” says Chancellor Lendley Black.

The rankings are based on peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, and alumni giving.

Complete rankings are published in the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges 2016 guidebook due in stores later this month.
