Saturday, March 19, Story Mapping, GIS, and Data Vis — Data Visualization and Story Mapping are common journalism and storytelling tools. For some reason, few people in Duluth and this region use them. This event will help change that.
Learn the basics from the folks who created the map for St. Louis River Estuary: The Stories and the Science, and see how these tools enhance reporting and storytelling. Bring a laptop and make a story map like the one UMD student Britta Hardel of the Geospatial Analysis Center created for river stories.
9–11:30 am at EcoLibrium3, 2304 West Superior Street, Duluth; Coffee and donuts from Johnson's Bakery in Lincoln Park.
