Fine Arts Academy

The Fine Arts Academy is a non-degree granting Community School of the Arts offering high quality arts instruction to infants, children, and adults.  As one of six units within the School of Fine Arts, the Fine Arts Academy collaborates with a diverse range of faculty and staff as well as community organizations, bringing arts programming to the region and state.

The UMD Fine Arts Academy is a member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education. Academy music programs are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

The School of Fine Arts, composed of the departments of Art & Design, Music, and Theatre, the Fine Arts Academy, the Tweed Museum of Art, Glensheen, the Marshall Performing Arts Center, and Weber Music Hall, plays a leading role in fostering the arts and serving as a cultural and artistic center for the campus and northern Minnesota.The school provides a comprehensive education for students in the visual and performing arts, including majors in art and music education, and opportunities for those who study in other disciplines, which are complemented by the fine arts curriculum.
