UMD Voyageurs

The UMD Voyageurs program fuses the energy and drama of musical performance with current issues faced by children and youth. Original productions developed for students in grades K-5 feature musical and dramatic elements that connect kids to learning. Performed by a cast of regional professionals, Voyageurs shows address healthy choices, bullying, and the value of friendship.

“Pirates of the Carrot Bean” views topics such as hand washing, keeping your body and mind fit, and limiting screen time. “Little BigFoot and the BULLies” explores friendship and bullying through the story of a boy named Danny.

Since 2008, the Voyageurs program has reached 30,000 students, performing at Minnesota elementary schools from International Falls to Bloomington. In 2013, the UMD Voyageurs program was recognized with a 2013 Touchstone award for improving the region by fostering generosity.
