Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

Ph.D. Standards

Qualitative Standard: Grade Point Average (GPA)

• If you are a Ph.D. student, you must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 for your entire period of enrollment.

• If your program requires a higher cumulative GPA, the higher requirement will be used to determine SAP financial aid eligibility.

• Your GPA will be reviewed at the end of each term.

Quantitative Standard

• You must complete your doctoral degree within eight calendar years of your program admission date.

• If you are unable to complete your degree or certificate within this timeframe, you may file a Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal form to be considered for an extension.
