Remedial Coursework

Financial aid eligibility for remedial coursework varies and is dependent upon your acceptance into an eligible degree or certificate-granting program.

If your acceptance into an eligible program is contingent upon completing remedial coursework, you are not considered admitted to that program until such coursework is completed. You are not eligible for federal, state, or campus-based aid until you are admitted to an eligible program; however, you are still able to apply for a private education loan from a commercial lender. There are several loan programs that do not require admittance to a degree program. Please refer to the private education loans page for additional details.

If you are admitted to an eligible program but are taking remedial coursework as part of that program, you will be eligible for financial aid for up to one academic year (no more than 30 credits) of remedial coursework.

If you have questions on remedial coursework and your eligibility for financial aid, please contact One Stop Student Services.
